(Austin, TX) – September 6, 2006 - Augmentix™ Corporation, an innovative provider of mission critical computing solutions for challenging environments, announced today that it has deployed more than 12,000 units of its proprietary Augmentix Server Availability Management Processor (A+SAMP) System to a leading Fortune 50 company.

The patent-pending Augmentix A+SAMP is a self contained, independently powered, embedded computer that is integrated into a Tier 1 server. The integrated A+SAMP monitors, reports, alerts and can be programmed to autonomously resolve hardware, software and application problems with the server.

In the case of the Fortune 50 company, the A+SAMP is an integral part of their mission critical server-based telephone system. The A+SAMP monitors pre-defined elements of the telephone system and attempts to autonomously resolve common server issues prior to sending an alert to one of the Fortune 50 company’s global service centers. This intelligent server management system, inclusive of Augmentix A+SAMP, has reduced IT administrative and field service costs associated with having to engage remote IT personnel for common server issues or deploy technicians to inspect and repair the servers. Equally important, the A+SAMP has increased server availability or uptime for this mission critical application.

The A+SAMP utilizes open standards with a Linux operating system and industry standard HPI software interface. Given the flexibility in the A+SAMP, it can be readily customized to meet virtually any company’s hardware and software computer management needs. In the case of the Fortune 50 customer for example, the system was integrated on both rack mount and blade servers, and has since been expanded as a key element of the overall system.

The A+SAMP is the cornerstone of Augmentix’ intelligent server management system, which provides a triaged approach ensuring maximum server uptime and application availability in the most challenging conditions. System benefits include:

• Enhanced hardware and operating system monitoring, reporting and alarming. This means the overall "health" of the system is closely measured and reported. Further, A+SAMP provides a unique capability in that it can be "customized" to actually tie into the customer’s application and provide enhanced autonomous monitoring and "self healing" on pre-programmed elements.
• Access from virtually anywhere the user can obtain an IP address or has modem capabilities. In the event a remote user wishes access to the server for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance or to resolve a failure based on notification from the A+SAMP, then the A+SAMP is part of a system that provides IP KVM (Ethernet, Keyboard Video and Mouse) access and virtual media functionality. This allows IT personnel to manage extensive server farms dispersed globally from a central control or base.
• The A+SAMP is managed by a simple web dashboard that is highly secure and easy to use. Key hardware, operating system and application elements can be monitored, while alerts/alarms can be emphasized.
