April 7, 2008 – Austin, TX Augmentix Corporation, a leader in rugged computing solutions for demanding environments, today announced the launch of its new high-availability and advanced performance, rugged server – the A+1950. Offering Intel®’s latest generation Xeon® 64-bit dual- and quad-core processors and new security and energy optimization technologies, the A+1950 provides military, industrial and government customers with a rugged 2-socket, 2U mission-critical rack and transit case mount server based on Dell’s™ PowerEdge™ platform.
The A+1950 is a re-engineered and ruggedized Dell PowerEdge 1950 III server. By utilizing many common system components, Augmentix is able to provide a rugged, rack-dense server that can be seamlessly integrated into Dell-centric enterprise IT infrastructures. Ruggedization and heightened server management of the A+1950 are achieved through the application of Augmentix’s proven mechanical, structural, thermal, filtration and server management technologies.
