Rugged Mobile Systems
Augmentix is “redefining rugged” for our customers by helping change the value paradigm for rugged, MIL-STD-810F mobile computing solutions. We have partnered with Dell to design the Dell™ Latitude™ XFR D630 family of fully-rugged notebooks, and a line of rugged docking solutions specifically for use with the XFR notebooks. Using our innovative business model, we are able to work with our partners to competitively challenge traditional rugged industry providers while enabling end customers to enjoy extensive benefits.
With the XFR D630, Dell brings state-of-the-art technologies, high performance, smart security, and robust functionality to the rugged industry. To create the fully-rugged XFR D630 notebook, the Dell™ Latitude™ ATG630™ was re-engineered and ruggedized using a proven Armored Protection System™. Based on customer inputs from a number of government agencies, branches of the military and industrial customers, the XFR D630 notebooks:
- Are engineered and independently-tested to meet Military Standards (MIL-STD-810F) for use in environmentally challenging conditions such as extreme temperatures, shock/drops, water/dust/dirt ingress, vibration, humidity, salt fog, altitude and potentially hazardous material conditions.
- Maintain a common IT architecture so that the Image, BIOS, Firmware and Utilities remain consistent across all Dell "D" Series systems allowing seamless integration with existing IT infrastructures.
- Provide the most advanced mobile performance platform available with Intel® Core® 2 Duo, Dual Core Processors, 800 MHz FSB and up to 4 MB of L2 cache.
- Provide the industry’s first 14.1" wide-aspect WXGA LCD with DirectVue™ Technology that delivers superior sunlight readability.
- Provide world-class quality, reliability, and customer support services.
MIL-STD-810F Testing
The XFR D630's unique mechanical, structural, thermal management, shock and vibration dampening, and sealing designs enable it to continue to operate reliably in very challenging environmental conditions. To ensure the reliability, third-party independent testing is performed to certify that each XFR D630 product meets the relevant Military Standards (MIL-STD-810F).
